Despite considerable traffic congestion and roadworks resulting in delays, the Bristol Maritime Trade Association held it’s 90th Annual Dinner in the 1st Class Dining Saloon of Brunel’s SS “Great Britain”.
The Members and their esteemed guests were welcomed by the President with the Keynote speech of the evening being delivered by Matthew Tanner the CER of the Great Britain Trust. After dinner entertainment was provided by Ex- Royal Protection Officer Richard “Dick” Griffin.

Allan Summerfield, the Association Representative on the Port Welfare Committee of the Merchant Navy Welfare Board, with the Association Treasurer Alan Morris looking on, hands over a cheque to the Seafarer’s Centre Manager, Adrian Ente, for £500.00 as a donation towards providing Free Phone Cards to visiting crew members to the port, from war-torn countries, enabling them to keep in contact with their families.
